The shawl is done; picture to come later.
I’ve started a cabled sweater out of Cascade 220; I’m about 16 rows into the pattern section. The yarn is a gorgeous blue/green heather, the same color I used for my French Market Bag.
I’ve also started a shawl from KnitPicks Sparkles (Lagoon) using their freebie pattern, Red Hat Shawl. My initial impression is that ladder yarns are a royal pain to knit, but we’ll see how I feel when I’m a little further along.
Other projects have been largely on hold.
It’s almost the time where I decide whether I’m actually going to try to finish Project X for Christmas. Three of my in-progress projects and one of my queued projects are intended for gifts; only one of them, my son’s sweater, is actually urgent (if I don’t finish it by December, he’ll have outgrown it by next year). I rarely angst about finishing a project in time for a holiday or birthday — the quilt I intended for a 25th anniversary present for my folks got finished for their 26.5th; an embroidered piece for my dad skipped one Christmas and birthday before finally being done, etc.
